Tent city reaches 100th day at FSU
July/August 2002

United Students Against Sweatshops at Florida State University recently celebrated the 100th day of their tent city on Landis Green on the Tallahassee campus. Twelve people were arrested more than three months ago and the tent city has been in continuous operation since then. Known as the Wescott 12, they were arrested protesting the refusal of their university to sign on to an agreement to not contract with clothing manufacturers that use sweatshop labor for the apparel bearing FSU logos.
