I was watching MTV, some Top whatever countdown. The girl says: "And now no.
1 and when we reach no. 1 you know we're talking Peter Gabriel. Here he is
with Lovetown." At this point I'm desperately searching for an empty
videotape. Luckily I manage to find one just in time. Anyway, the video
starts and it's really not at all like Lovetown. It sounds different and it
looks different too. First verse starts with Peter's upside reflection in
the water, sort of like on EVE (he has lots of hair in this bit), then the
chorus starts and I see Peter and a whole bunch of other people (Tony,
David etc) rolling around in a humongeous bed. Peter is on the right with
this girl person next to him, but he bumps her out of the bed. Then the
others bump Peter out. At this point I find myself *inside* the video all
of a sudden. I'm standing on the far end of the bed (it really is a very
big bed). Peter who is bumped out of the bed comes running in my
direction. I catch him in my arms. He has hair, but not much and it
scattered around his head in little tufts (kinda like someone looks after
several months of chemotherapy). Very scary. Not only that, but he has
this amazing fear in his eyes. I try comfort him and calm him down as much
as I can and then my stupid alarm clock goes off. Don't you just hate it
when that happens?
