What can I do to help??????
-If your dorm does not already have recycling, contact the EPC secretary to get information.
-If your dorm already has recycling, take any items that are recyclables
to the containers provided.
-Volunteer your time by helping to take containers to Wal-Mart or getting aluminum cans from Home Depot.
-Attend an EPC meeting to learn more about what they are doing
and how the pilot recycling program is coming along. To learn when meeting times and dates are, please look in the EPC
board located at the top of the spiral staircase in the science wing…you know
where that is right??? Or you can email
the EPC’s secretary again to join their
list.
-USE LESS GARBAGE!!!!!
By using less trash in your dorm or home, you reduce the need for
recycling efforts. Think about how much
trash is in each thing that you buy.
When you are at the store ask yourself does it come with extra packaging
or plastic wraps? BUY IN BULK!!! Get together with your family, friends,
roommates, or the random person down the hall to buy bigger items. Many times these also SAVE $$$$!!!!
-REUSE OLD CONTAINERS!!!!
Use milk jugs to bottle water instead of buying new ones. Use plastic bags from the grocery store as
bathroom or personal garbage bags. If
you work with children, reuse toilet paper rolls for crafts.
-LASTLY, BUY RECYCLED!!!!!
When you buy toilet paper, notebook paper, computer paper, or anything
else that could come from recycled materials look at the recycled content (POST-COMSUMER
AND PRE-CONSUMER GOODS).
