• Do you make your home a place where friendship, peace and refreshment of spirit are found?
• Do you make a place in your daily life for reflection and communion with the Divine Spirit?
• Do you give time and thought to the study of the Bible and other religious literature?
• Do you choose those recreations that will strengthen your physical, mental and spiritual life and avoid those that may prove a hindrance to yourself and others?

• An evening with Dorothy Granada brought to us by Tim Fogarty. Come hear her story of courage and compassion as she tells of her work establishing and maintaining a women's health clinic in the Nicaraguan countryside.

MEETING NEWS

You are invited to attend a Quaker Worship Sharing of Political discernment. A worship sharing is a silent gathering in which people wait and are lead to "...share personal and spiritual experiences, thoughts, and feelings, often in response to a prearranged theme or questions, and in a manner that acknowledges the presence of God (Faith and Practice)."
• In our search for a world that embodies the core values and principles of a peaceful community, how do we discern or how are we lead to make political choices?
• What conditions concern us? How do we deal with discrepancies between our ideals and real choices?
• How do we know our decisions are leading to justice or healing in the world?

• UN Day Observance is on October 23 at the Gainesville Women's Club from 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 pm The theme is Building a Bridge to Literacy. Includes lunch and a noontime speaker.
• Gainesville Community Ministries is experiencing an acute shortage of non-perishable food in their pantry for the disenfranchised of our community. Can you spare a few cans? Place contributions in the box on the shelf under the window at the meetinghouse.
• Wedding Bells have again rung for the Brennan family. On September 13, son Benjamin and his bride, Gwendolyn Oulman, exchanged vows at the Quaker Meetinghouse on Nantucket Island, Massachusetts. Our hearts sing with you, Sybilvc and Bud.
• Quick! Before Mona (Morris) gets back! Gene Beardsley and Joan Andrews are planning to spruce up the front yard on the first cool day. If you would like to help, speak to either Gene or Joan.
