Porpoise is a gonner

What the fuck is wrong with this town? I mean really. What the FUCK is wrong with this town? It's not bad enough that one of the better music venues in this town is being lost, not that the porpoise (a gainesville tradition) is going away, but changing the name to GATOR UGLY!?!?!?

The name isn't funny. Nor is it even fucking CLOSE to being clever. Hell it wasn't fucking clever when they made that stupid fucking movie over three years ago. The name is just dumb, and the concept is even worse. Another bar geared DIRECTLY to the hoochie-whores, frat-whores, and general sheeple that plague this town.

Oh and i fucking LOVE the quote from the alligator:

"The new management, whom Kramer could not reveal, will be changing the clientele base. He said the new bar will be a place where 'people want to go where the right kind of people will see them.'"

what a fucking moron. I hope the new management rots in the cesspool that they're creating.

I will be at the blowhole tonight, watching some awesome metal bands, and hopefully drinking myself into a state of bliss. If anyone knows me this will be a valliant effort, but will probably end in failure... unless i start with gin on the rocks, and stick with it.

So, i want to give one last hoo-ra! to the fine people that made the blowhole what it became, and what it could have become. I drink to Rock Solid, Juiced, and Rock 104 who did their best to bring in national acts, and supported the local bands. I drink to the bands that went on and rocked their asses off, sometimes to only 5 people (crashpad I'm talking directly to you). And finally, i drink to the loyal fans that support local music ion this town, without you there would have never been a blowhole.

And lastly... a big FUCK YOU to the new owners (more specifically: Rob Zeller, Mike Akey, and Melissa Akey) for taking away one of the last decent music venues in this town. no, really... FUCK YOU!
