ska me with a horn
if my calendar is correct, today is monday. I had a good weekend, allow me to bore you with details.
Friday was spent driving 5 hours to sanford to pick up caleb, then back to gainesville. I need to look into moving gainesville and sanford closer together (probably writing my congressman/woman/person). Not that the trip is bad or difficult or anything like that, it's just long. Too long in fact to catch the DblWide show at the Downtown Plaza (darn).
Saturday was father and son day. Played games, watched football, ya know... "father and son" things. I also managed to squeeze in enough time to do yardwork.
Sunday was an early ska show @ the porpoise. And believe it or not, Sienna (aka patti) managed to come along. Lineup consisted of some ska veterans: Neptune 66 (who have moved half of their band to gainesville), One Pump Chump (sporting the new and improved trumpet player, Evan), and The Know How (with ANOTHER member change). As an added treat GainesvilleBands.com was mentioned at the show (ty Kyle and Matt).
Also it turns out that GVB is "sponsoring" the upcoming The Busdrivers, Unsung Zeros, Punchline, Today Doesn't Count show on the 7th of October at Purple Porpoise. and how did this happen? well Matt decided to put the site at the top of the flyer as "sponsored by Juiced productions and Gainesvillebands.com". Uhhhh, yeah. I always thought that "sponsoring" something meant breaking out the cash, but obviously not ;) This is the first time that GVB is getting some exposure by anyone other than me walking up to people and handing them a card. And considering that i have over a THOUSAND hits in little more than 3 weeks, I'm considering the site a success.
That's about it, I'll try to get a post up wednesday. (ya know to get into that monday-wednesday-friday posting schedule) I keep hearing people complaining of my lack of consistency. to all those people... screw you. I may just skip wednesday now just to spite you :P
