Is it Friday yet?
With the great weight lifted from my cranium (that's your head boys and girls), i am proud to say that the week is finally over. and now i will have a chance to review...
First of all i wanted to say that I only managed to catch the last few minutes of the Less Than Jake show on Saturday due to some prior stuff (read:work-related-bullshit) i had to take care of . But it's Less Than Jake, I'll see them again. So, it's Saturday and we (Andrey (the Ukrainian tank) and I) were all ready to be entertained and left blue-balled, we decided to roam around and find some fun.
It's funny that things happen for a reason. Case-in-point: Daughters of the Revolution. I wanted to see these guys for a while now, but never managed to catch a show. (They had to step down from the already packed lineup at the One Pump Chump CD release party.) While looking for something to do downtown (Andrey wanted to get his freak-on at a club, while i just wanted to listen to bands) we peeked into the Side Bar who were promoting their "free-beer-no-cover-plus-a-band-night". Guess what band was playing. I'm waiting... really guess... alright, fine. It was Daughters of the Revolution (i cant believe you couldn't guess that). I got a chance to chat with the band and buy 'em a couple drinks.
The Hot Rod Beef Squadput on an incredible show on Monday, despite the inconvenience of being interrupted by some moron wearing a suit of duct-tape. I managed to put up pictures of the show for all to enjoy.
Next was the Shermy D and Digital Underground show on Wednesday. How can i put this... alright, i'll be blunt. there were 20 people there for Shermy D and it ballooned to 35 when Digital underground took the stage. This (imho) wasn't the fault of the entertainers, but the fault of The Palace's poor advertising, hell even people who WORKED there had no idea what show was going to go on. But, despite the smallish crowd, Shermy D (the lyrical master) put on a mystifying show complete with 2 clones, and a suit of christmas lights. Digital underground played "humpty-dance" about mid way through the show and closed with weed and "freaks of the industry".
any-how... caleb will be spending the weekend with me in G-ville and we're planning to have fun doing yardwork!
got nuttin but love for ya
