The Hodge's Awarded TENNIS FAMILY OF THE YEAR AWARD!!

The Hodge's; B.J., Clark, and daughter Shannon, from Gainesville, Florida, were awarded the 1995 Florida Section "Tennis Family of the Year Award", October 7, 1995, at the USTA/Florida Section Annual Meeting, held in St. Petersburg, Florida.

A few notes on their collective involvement ...

B.J. - has volunteered for 6 years at the District & State level; including the following - District Level ... League coordinator 2yr; District Director 4yr; Adult Tournament & Sanction Committee 4yr; Junior Tournament & Sanction Committee 4 yr; Communications & Publications 2yr; Community Development 2yr; Membership Committee 3yr; Officials Committee 2yr; Assisted in recruiting officials to become certified; assisted in organizing Senior League & Mixed League; promoted USTA JTT (coached & sponsored team); organized, with Clark, the start-up of the CTA/GATO; Officiated 6-12 sanctioned tournaments each year; at the State level; on the BOD for 4yr; By-laws Ad Hoc Committee 1yr; and currently on the Adult League & Recreation council, Play Tennis America Committee, as well as the Community Development Education sub-committee; AND in her spare time ... plays USTA League & Gainesville/Ocala Day League tennis!!!

Clark - has volunteered for 4 years, as; Assistant District Director 1yr; Community Development Committee 1yr; District Community Development Chair (3rd year); sponsor & Coach USTA JTT 2yr; and plays USTA, Adult, Mixed, and Senior tennis.

Shannon - has volunteered for 3 years, as District Membership Chair 1yr; District Communications & Publications Chair 1yr; USTA Leagues 4 yr, (Captain 3yr); Court Monitor 2yr; Administrative Assistant for District Meetings 3yr; and plays in the Gainesville/Ocala Day League.
