United States Tennis Association

The USTA serves as the governing body of tennis and is the oldest, most respected, and most experienced tennis organization in the United States. Formed on May 21, 1881, under the name of the United States National Lawn Tennis Association, the USTA is a not-for-profit organization.

The USTA encompasses all 50 states, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands and is comprised of 17 sections. This geographical division is what allows the USTA, through its organization members, to effectively reach the grass roots tennis enthusiasts, thus giving them an opportunity to participate in the affairs and management of the USTA, and to influence decisions that determine the future of the game.
