Should county property tax rates be increased for 2001-2002?
- County Manager Randy Reid submitted a budget which did not include a tax increase.(Not yet on county web site)
- Four commissioners voted to increase property taxes by 2.7% for the entire county.
- The increase is expected to raise $1.8 mil, approximately the amount the state will not provide.
- The county, like families, can learn to adjust to lowered income.
- There are to be two public hearings on the increase in September.
