Gone

Over 200 acres of trees are gone

Over 200 acres of cypress wetland have been destroyed. What is left behind is a sea of stumps of once proud and beneficial trees. People who favor mitigation of wetlands believe it is possible to move them from one place to another location that is more convenient to humans. But the heart of a wetland is below the surface in the sub-basin. When a new site is evaluated, the sub-surface is not considered. It takes nature many years to establish a wetland. Man tries to do it in a few months.
