JUAN F. CEJAS:
ARTISTIC DIRECTOR
Juan Cejas, Artistic Director, was appointed to this position in June 1996
following a national search which elicited more than 300 responses. The
founder and artistic director of the Acme Theatre Company in Miami from
1984 to 1992, Cejas established the company as the most critically
acclaimed theatre in the area during that period. In addition to numerous
and diverse roles on the stage - including a stint at the New Jersey
Shakespeare Festival - Cejas has appeared as an actor in both feature
films and television. Cejas is the co-founder and senior partner of New
Millennium Pictures. In his role as FST's Artistic Director, Cejas will
focus on the theatre's continuing artistic excellence; negotiation of all
contracts with Equity and non-Equity directors, actors, and technicians;
and supervision of production budgets, box office staff, media relations
and marketing.
