The Gainesville Suzuki Players (G.S.P.) was founded officially in 1969 by Sonnhild F. Kitts. Mrs. Kitts originally started teaching in 1966. Mrs. Kitts' program is fifth oldest Suzuki teaching programs in the country.
Mrs. Kitts has performed with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra for nine seasons and with the Jacksonville Symphony for thirteen seasons and most recently Mrs. Kitts was the founding concertmaster of the Gainesville Chamber Orchestra. Mrs. Kitts as well as two of her four daughters teach in her studio as well as in the Universities of South Florida once a week, and The University of Florida. Stephanie, Mrs. Kitts' third daughter teaches violin and piano. Jackie the youngest of the four daughters is the cello instructor.
