Tom "Tony" V. John

Age : 24

Influences : Jimi Hendrix, Randy Rhoads, Eddie Van Halen, The Edge

Equipment : Ibanez RG-550, Fender Stratocaster, Applause AE-38 Acoustic, Crate GX-130C, Digitech GSP-21, Crybaby wah

Personal Statement : I began playing guitar at the age of 15 on a cheap little Harmony electric guitar. I took lessons for about a year and realized that it wasn't helping me that much, so I decided to quit the lessons and teach myself. With the help of a few teaching books, I would listen to my favorite rock CD's and learn the chord progressions and scales on my own. I have never been one to enjoy playing a lot of cover tunes due to the fact that people always compare your version to the original. So I've been writing originals ever since I was 17 and I've never looked back. Lately, I have been exploring different musical styles such as alternative rock and R&B and trying to fuse these different musical styles together. Through the death of a close friend of the band's in 1991, the following phrase was coined:

"May his love for music show us that life is too short to keep our dreams to ourselves"

These are words that I live by.
