Here's a story that I'd like to tell
She was a good girl went to Sunday school
And then it happened at the age of sixteen
Now she knows she can't change the things that she's done
Now she looks to heaven with tears in her eyes
It was a Friday night with nothing to do
And then it happened moving way too fast
She's felt the heartache and she knows the pain
Now she looks to heaven with hope in her eyes
About a girl lost between heaven and hell
She grew up in a small farm town
With parents that loved her and friends all around
Stayed out of trouble lived the golden rule
She got older and things started to change
Her parents thought it was just a phase
She did things that you wouldn't believe
Her parents cried as she started to leave
A lifetime of sorrow for one night of fun
She's felt the heartache and she knows the pain
Yet the story's till the same
All she can do is ask herself why
She wants to pick up the pieces and get on with her life
But all that she can do is sing
Sweet lullabies
Parents out of town so she called up a few of her friends
Went out and partied all night
Came back with a guy who thought that she might
Before they knew it it was all in the past
And know she cries as she sees those little eyes
Yet the story's not the same
Cause love from heaven above changed her life
She's picked up the pieces and got on with her life
But she still sings those
Sweet lullabies
