Jason K. Joseph

Age : 21

Influences : A little bit of everything from Bach to Bush

Equipment : Korg O1/W Pro, Kurzweil K2000, Korg Trinity Workstation, Shure

Personal Statement : By looking at my influences, one might wonder why I'd make a comment like that. Well, in my opinion, one musical asset that I have is the ability to appreciate all types of music (yes, even country!). But, if I could put together the perfect musician, I think I'd take the vocal style of George Michael, the songwriting ability of Michael W. Smith, the keyboard chops of Harry Connick Jr. and Bruce Hornsby, and then top that all off with the stylistic versatility of Prince. (Some combo, huh?)

Ever since I can remember, music has been an important part of my life. Whether singing, playing the piano, or even playing my stereo, something within my soul thrives on music. I can recall singing in a church program as early as age four and writing my first song at age seven. I started playing the piano by ear when I was nine. Now these shouldn't be taken as signs of some extraordinary musical genious, because they weren't. These were merely the results of curiousity combined with some God-given talents when I was first placed face to face with the art form known as music. Now at the age of 20, with a little formal training and a lot of varied musical experiences behind me, I explore music with the same curiousity I had as a child. Every new interaction with music takes me to a new place. Yet, the hunger is never filled - the drive is never satisfied. So, I continue on my journey in search of the muse..........
