It all started back in 1993. I was taking high school Chemistry II (yes, a second year, it was a magnet school), and we were studying Hydrocarbons during the second semester; and everyone knows that the standards for naming Hydrocarbons are set by the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (or IUPAC). Well, being the creative genious that I was, I wasn't happy with those methods. I preferred my own! I called my method Geof-U-PAC (Geof's Union of the Purest Applied Chemistry), and I had a few followers too!

The year after, I took a Drafting class. The final project was to design and draft a new product. I designed an electronic entertainment center. Not only did you plug the stuff in the entertainment center into power outlets, but you also plugged the entertainment system into the wall. It was fully automatic! It could house your television, stereo system, VCR, and all your gaming consoles, in addition to your audio tapes, video tapes, CD's and console game cartridges and CDs. I had no corporate takers on the item, so I renamed Geof-U-PAC to Geof-U-Pac (I didn't deal in Chemistry anymore) and slapped an Inc. on the end of it, and GUPI was born! The logo was designed the day after.

My stint in furniture was short lived, however, when I moved to Florida to attend university. GUPI went cyber! Throughout my high school career, I've always shared my Calculator programs, but I didn't have a place where people could get them whenever they wanted. In 1994, I discovered the Internet, and IRC. "How wonderful," I thought, "now I can share my creations with all the world!" GUPI went global that day!

That brings us to today. Things have slowed down a bit since I don't have any science or math classes. I finished with those ages ago. But I'm still always busy writing, testing, and updating my IRC scripts.
