SysAdmin Recovery
Notice!
Sorry folks, I recovered last year. Time to deprecate
this outdated puppy. I'll be nuking the entire page in a few weeks/months.
This part of my homepage is dedicated to resources on the net related
to the Usenet newsgroup alt.sysadmin.recovery.
If you want details about the purpose of the group, read the FAQ.
Otherwise, feel free to browse around here...
12/16/96 - Looks like a lot of links on here may now be dead
or not as up-to-date as they once were. I'll need to decide if wish to
maintain this page or chuck it. But in the meanwhile, here's an interesting
call we received recently...
10/5/96 - I don't really read a.s.r much anymore, as the noise
level got obnoxious when every twit on the net decided it would be cool
to pretend to be a sysadmin. The moderating of a.s.r helped a bit, but
it's still not what it once used to be. I retain this page as a useful
set of links, however.
I'm
in the top 5% of Bastard web sites now, too!
Mottos
"AUUUUUUUUUGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!"
"Remember: down, not across."
"Beer!"
Man Pages
Humourus man page entries for all sorts of topics that SysAdmins will laugh
their ass off at while everyone else scratches their heads...
Most
of 'em
DEU Problems
Read about the results of the DEU mini-contest on
a.s.r sponsored by yours truely.
Stories
Stories, mostly fictional, about the woes and terrors of SysAdmins... Also,
stories that don't necessarily relate directly to SysAdmin woes but tend
to be pretty entertaining to the poor bastards.
The BOFH
Tales Of The ZenMaster
Other Story Stuff
Stupid User Tricks
Misc.
Various odds-and-ends that relate to recovering/recovered SysAdmins. And
just general geekiness.
-
Dilbert - There's
hardly a geek in the world who doesn't love Dilbert.
-
Geekdom
- Geek Is.
-
SysAdmin
Pages - Homepages of a.s.r regulars.

Even Lemmy (of Motorhead) used
to be a geeky sort...
