Riffer's Picture Album
(Or: A Picture's worth about 74,021 bytes)
I've finally managed to get some pictures scanned in for display to the
entire world. Wow! Isn't that exciting? Ok, maybe not... So people
don't waste time loading a huge page of in-lined images, I've made them
all links with appropriate sizes listed and a brief description. These
are all standard JPEG images.
The Album
-
Vroom [31k] - This is
a picture of me and Joe
when were trying to fix my wife's
old Citation. This was taken by Jenn while we were looking at the engine
and muttering He-Things to each other.
Note: Much later, the car's transmission totally died. I'm confident
that the engine catching on fire had nothing to do with it.
-
Gleee! [14k] - This is
Fred,
a friend of ours who used to live in Gainesville but now resides elsewhere.
This is a picture from when Fred was a geek and hadn't yet earned the "You're
that
Fred?!" reputation. Now he works for the folks at Godlike Technologies.
-
Eh? [46k] - A picture
from Joe's birthday party some years ago. Featured are Ben
who is just a shadow on the left edge, Joe looking into the camera (he
has bright red eyes in the original picture), and of course ME! I'm the
guy on the right.
-
Eh?!! [29k] - Another
picture from the same Birthday party. In this one we get a clear image
of Ben (he's in the white shirt long-sleeved shirt), as well as Walter
who's this really cool Frood... Any resemblance to Bill Gates is purely
coincidental and is not part of an ongoing plot. Oh, and the drunk
guy in the lower part of the picture who's measuring his nose with a tape
measure... Well, we're sorry to say that's Fred. He's getting better now,
and has almost completely cured his fetish for sewing accessories after
the Knitting Needle incident.
-
Who me? [3k] - Just a
close-up shot from the first Birthday picture. You can sort of see the
red eyes more clearly.
-
Meow [24k] - Our cat,
Rajah. Actually, he's my wife's cat technically. In this older picture,
he's claiming Jenn's trench coat for his own by roaring at the apartment
in general.
-
MEOW! [34k] - Rajah again.
Here he demonstrates why cats are superior to us mere humans.
-
Smash [61k] - The same
year these pictures were taken (1992) we had a nasty March wind storm in
Gainesville. It blew down a large part of one of the Oak trees outside
our old apartment. It was rather surprising to wake up, open the door to
put out the trash and see this huge green forest in my way. The door was
completely blocked (which is why it's not visible in this picture).
-
Crush [63k] - The same
scene but from a slightly different angle. The motorcycle belonged to a
neighbor (it never ran). The building on the left that's almost completely
covered was our place.
