HIGH SPRINGS COMMUNITY THEATER, "CALAMITY JANE"
Located in the New Century Women's Club Building on Hwy 27
in High Springs, This great small town community theater presents
classic shows as well as newer works: dramas, comedies , musicals
and children's plays. "Calamity Jane", will be presented
every weekend in October, 2001. Show time is 8:00 PM on Friday
and Saturday and 2:00 PM on Sunday.

HIPPODROME MAINSTAGE LOCAL MUSICIANS SEPT. 17
The Hippodrome Mainstage offers an intimate, smoke-free, unique space where audiences can fully concentrate on the music of Gainesville's finest bands and individual performers.
Monday the 17th of September the Hippodrome will play host
to two such local artists. Opening the concert will be Gainesville's
own Amanda Garrigues. Following Amanda will be the return of The
Angry Inch from Hedwig and The Angry Inch. The band is made up
of Richy Stano (lead guitar), Tané DeKrey (keyboards),
Devin Moore (bass), Tom Hurst (percussion) and Edward Roses (guitar
and vocals).

SEASONALITY OF UNINTENTIONAL CHILDHOOD INJURY
Unintentional injury remains the leading killer of children
14 and under. According to SAFE KIDS, this summer children will
be rushed to emergency departments nearly 3 million times for
serious injuries, and an estimated 2,550 children will lose
lives due to an unintentional injury. Nearly half (42 percent)
of all fatal and nonfatal unintentional injuries among children
occur during the summer months, when children are out of school,

Source Youth Foundation Serving Urban Youth
Affiliated with The Source, a magazine that covers hip-hop
music and culture, the Source Youth Foundation works to provide
assistance and opportunities to urban
youth in the areas of education, sports, recreation, economic
development, and arts and entertainment. The foundation is operated
and managed by the Youth

Through its highly competitive grant program, the Source Youth
Foundation plans to award yearlong grants of $5,000 to $50,000
to nonprofit organizations
serving youth. In addition, the foundation will provide non-financial
assistance such as the support of hip-hop artists and event sponsorship.
Must be a 501(c)(3) in good standing; serve young adults ages
14 to 24 who face personal, environmental, and institutional barriers
to success; and intend to use the grant to promote educational,
workplace, and leadership achievement among the served population.
