My name is Robert Buford. I am a teacher of communications and a student of history. One of my hobbies is visiting the grave sites of people involved in the "American War Between The States". It is my intention to share with you what these sites look like as well as their locations. Some sites are quite elaborate and some are simple, but the people buried in them took part in one of the greatest and most terrible events in the history of our country. I always feel a bit awed when I stand next to one of these people's graves, and I hope you will find this as interesting as I do.

It is my plan to include both Union as well as Confederate personalities, but to date I have visited mostly Confederate graves. This is due to the fact that I am from the South (the Confederate graves are closer), and my side of the Buford family fought for the South. But we had other Bufords who wore blue, and I hope to include some Union sites in the future.

If you should know of a site that is not listed, feel free to leave me a note as to the person and the location. Perhaps I can include it at some future date.

What people commonly refer to as the Confederate flag is in reality the Confederate battle flag.
