August 27, 12:30: The Bible Seminar of the Gainesville Quakers will convene on August 27, (4th Sunday) at 12:30 p.m. Discussion will continue on the gospel According to Matthew.
August 25, 6:00 pm at the Buskirks: Quakerism 102 continues to study the Quaker Process with the topic postponed from July: Listening for the Sense of the Meeting. The reading includes pages from a Pendle Hill pamphlet Beyond Consensus: Salvaging the Sense of the Meeting, by Barry Morley, and extracts from writings by William Taber (who visited our meeting) and Patricia Loring (a Michner lecturer) available at the meeting house, along with the reflection questions.
On November 4 there will be a picnic on the land at 704 NW 38th Street, followed, the next day by a Forum on envisioning a new meetinghouse. Phil Buskirk and Paul Davis cleared a parking area that some of us used recently when we pulled weeds and started clearing a promising picnic site. Perry Keidel and Bill Mitchell put up the gate donated by Reuben Keppel, an attractive entry. Jeannie Buskirk, Connie Ray and Hap Taylor have been after those weeds. Thank you!
