Tropical Bytes was started in March, 1993, by the Polk Apple Core Users Group. We are currently sponsored by Apple Core and the Polk County School Board. We use a client/server software from SoftArc, Inc. called FirstClass, which provides a graphical user interface (GUI) to Macintosh and Windows callers, and a command-line user interface (CLUI) to callers using other platforms along with a terminal emulation program.
