Pack 454 Newsletter:

May 2006

Hello All-

Here we are at the end of another scouting year.  It has been a very fun filled year, with a wonderful support from our parents and leaders.
Thank you to all that have given of their time the pack.

Chris Waldo and Ian Conaty represented Pack 454 in the North Florida Council PWD at Scout Blast.  Chris placed 10th in the Webelos division and Ian Conaty placed 4th in the Tigers.  At Council level it is very tough competition with cars racing around 2 and a half seconds. Congratulations to both for making it so far!

May Pack Meeting/ Graduation- The May pack meeting, which is also the Graduation Ceremony will be held on Saturday, May 13th at 5 PM in the Talbot Elementary Cafeteria.  The boys will be crossing over the bridge and onto their next rank. Please have the new neckerchief ready (for the rank your son is bridging to) so that you can change it once your son crosses over.  All families are asked to bring a dish of finger foods.  This includes anything from mini sandwiches, veggie platters etc.  The pack will purchase a few pizzas and some wings for the kids.  Please do not bring a desserts.  The pack is providing cake and beverages.

Gator's Dockside Breakfast Fundraiser- Thank you to all who participated in this fundraiser. We raised over $1280 with $172 in tips.  A special thanks to Sandra for all of your hard work and time that you put in to this very successful fundraiser.

Cub Scout Day Camp will be held June 12-16 at the TB McPherson Center in Gainesville, with our very own Joey Giberti as Camp Director  This is a week long, full day, camp that your boy will thoroughly enjoy. Many activities are planned and include swimming, games, crafts, sports, songs, archery and BB gun safety training and more. There will be badge and belt loop activities as well. Day camp runs from 8:00-4:30 with early drop off and late pickup available. The cost is $65 if registered May 1-31.   You can get your registration form using the following link-
A camp T-shirt is included in your fees. Please turn your completed forms and money in to Joey Giberti.
Parents are needed to be den leaders or to teach a badge/belt loop activity. If you are interested for helping for one day, all five days or anything in between please contact Joey at G8trband@aol.com .  Non Scout siblings, 3 years old and up, are allowed to attend if the parent is working the day at camp.  The cost for the sibling is $10 for the week.

Pack Planning Meeting- Our annual pack planning meeting will be held on Sunday, June 25 1-3 PM in the Capri Clubhouse, located in the Capri Subdivision. This meeting is open to all parents.  Everyone is welcomed and encouraged to attend. This is where we make decisions regarding the 2006-2007 cub scouting year.  This includes pack meetings, campouts, service projects and special events.  Please plan to join us, as everyone's input is appreciated and needed.
RSVP as we will need an accurate count to plan for food/drink.

Summer Fun Activities-  We have three great activities planned for this summer.  One each in June, July and August.  Look for information at the graduation and emails to come the week prior to the event as a reminder.
