Pack 454 Newsletter:

April 2006

Hello All-

Sorry I am a bit late on getting this newsletter out.

Good Luck to Ian Conaty and Chris Waldo as they race in the North Florida Council Pinewood Derby at Scout Blast on April 22.

Here is what is on for April.

April Pack Meeting- April Pack meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, April 18 at 7 PM at Talbot in the cafeteria.  We will be building with kits courtesy of Lowes. If you have a small hammer you can bring please bring it, as we have only a dozen or so to go around.

Scout Blast Coupons- We will be selling the Scout Blast coupons once again at the April Pack Meeting.  This year the coupon books includes coupons to McDonalds (free sundae), Schlotzsky's (free kids meal), Hardees, Blockbuster (free kids rental), and Gator's Dockside (free kids meal), among others.  The coupon books sell for $2 each with the pack receiving 50 cents of each sale. The remainder goes to assist special needs scouts in their scouting experience.

Scout Blast-  Scout Blast on Saturday, April 22 in Jacksonville at the Jacksonville Equestrian Center (13611 Normandy Blvd.) This big action-packed Scout Show will include dozens of hands-on displays, static displays, parades and demonstrations. More than 10,000 people attended last years event and witnessed Scouting at its best!  This is also the location for the Council Pinewood Derby.

Gator's Dockside Breakfast Fundraiser- Our Breakfast Fundraiser will be held on Saturday, April 29 from 8-11 am at Gator's Dockside in Plaza Royale on Newberry Road. The breakfast includes 2 pancakes, scrambled eggs, two strips of bacon and orange juice, milk or coffee.  Tickets are $5 each.  Den leaders have handed out ten tickets for each boy to sell.   All money and stubs for tickets sold, and unsold tickets should be turned in to your den leaderDen leaders must turn in all of the above no later than Tuesday, April 18.  We need to turn in our total numbers to Gator's Dockside on Wednesday, April 19.  The Webelos dens are participating as servers the day of the breakfast, in addition to selling tickets.  We have parents volunteering to help with the kitchen duties of cooking, washing dishes, set up and clean up.  Last year we raised over $1500, lets see what we can do this year!
If you have any questions, please call Sandra at 384-1710.
