Ministries & Spiritual Activities
at St. Augustine's
The Catholic Student Center offers a variety of ministries to the student community here in Gainesville. This page is constantly under construction Here are some of the spiritual activities & ministries that Newman Club members are a part of at St. Augustine's that you can also be a part of :-

The Newman Club - Spiritual Group

Tuesday Evening Rosary after Potluck
(This activity stopped, if you would like to start it up again please contact Jen Yontz.)
Every Tuesday after Potlucks we gather to pray the rosary. It only takes 15 minutes. Please stay and join us to with our Blessed Mother to Jesus, her Son. Please contact Gerald Lamb through the church office if you have any questions.

Catholic Student Fellowship
Meets Mondays, during the school year, in upstairs Hurley Hall  @ 7:00pm. This is a time where people can come together and share their faith in fellowship through song, praise, prayer, and conversation. They discuss different topics every week. In addition CSF usually holds a college student retreat each semester to help students grow spiritually. In addition the Newman club encourages everyone to get involved the various ministry opportunities available in the church.

The Alpha Retreat
The Alpha Retreat is one of the most popular retreats with the student community.  Alpha retreat occur once in the Fall Semester and once in the Spring Semester.  Alpha is a self discovery retreat.  It is a wonderful opportunity to meet other students and to get involved at St. Augustine's.

The Church Choir
St. Augustine's has one of the most beautiful choirs at the 5:30pm Student Mass on Sundays, and they are always looking for more singers & musicians to sing at our masses. If you are interested contact Dr. Nansi Carroll, our Music Director, through the church office.

Pax Christi
Pax Christi literally translates to "Peace of Christ." This is an organization that concentrates on the gift of peace by the Holy Spirit. The goals are to share the ideal of changing the world in a non-violent manner, through prayer and peaceful actions. It is a global peace movement.  You can contact Johnny Z at 372 3533 the Church Office to find out more on how you can be a part of it.

Sodality
This group has a devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary and the teachings she has given us. They explore the history of Mary and the role she played in God's plan to give us a Savior. They focus on the ministry Mary performed and is performing today.Contact Tim McMillan at the Church Office.

Liturgical Ministry-
Extraordinary Ministers of the Eucharist, Lectors, Altar Servers, Greeters, Ushers.

Catchechists-
Anyone interested in helping with religion education should contact Kelli Brew and anyone interested in helping with Youth Ministry(Catholic Youth in Action) should contact Johnny Z
