Personal Protection in the Home

The NCFSA will present the NRA's Personal Protection in the Home Course on Saturday, September 14, 2002 (full classroon day) and Sunday, September 15, 2002 (firing range session). The course will cover the following major areas:

1. Introduction to defensive shooting
2. Basic defensive handgun skills
3. Firearms and the law
4. Home safety strategies and responses
5. Selecting a handgun for self defense
6. Sport shooting and training opportunities
7. Course review and examination

Completion of the class earns a certificate which serves as proof of training for a Florida Concealed Weapons License. It is not necessary to own a gun to complete the course. Hearing and eye protection is mandatory. Cost is $40.00 per student.

To attend this course, a student must have a completion certificate from another NRA training course, hold a concealed weapons license, or attend a basic firearm safety class.
