Hello and welcome, my name is Mika. I was born in Zphat, Israel. I am
a sophomore majoring in business.
Since Israel is a mixture of many different cultures, we do not have
a traditional costume. However, when we celebrate our independence day
we wear the colors of our flag: blue and white.
My parents moved from Tunisia to Israel in 1951. Along with their love for the Jewish religion, my parents kept many of their Arabic traditions in our household. I grew up with Arabic movies, dances, and music.. However, I never thought that I would become friends with Arabic people until I came to America. Now, I have Arabic friends as well as friends from all over the world.
I am honored to be the first Israeli student to compete in the Miss Visa pageant but
I would not have entered without the strong support of my friends in the Arabic Student Association. And for that I would like to thank them:
Ani meyod ma-ah-ree-ha et tmi-cha-chem. Toda raba. In Hebrew this means "I am thanking you all very much."
