This is a view of the south porch and main entrance to the Thrasher Warehouse, which houses the Micanopy* Historical Society Museum. The flags are the familiar "Florida Under Five Flags" display so often used to illustrate the history of the State of Florida as it was claimed by the Spanish, French, British, Confederacy, and United States of America. This view also shows a portion of the courtyard which, beginning about 1896, housed farm equipment, wagons, buggies, and animals of various kinds (e.g. horses, mules, goats, and pigs), all of which were for sale as part of J.E. Thrasher's business. In the rear can be seen another large shed-type warehouse, a part of the original warehouse quadrangle, which is slowly being restored.
