Roy Howe, 66, a resident of the Clearspring Community, Route 1, Norman, died at 10:30 a.m. yesterday at the Bedford Medical Center where he was admitted April 12. He had been ill five years.
He was born August 7, 1905 in Monroe County the son of Rolle Roscoe and Sarah Ellen Clark Howe. He was married to Pearl Arthur in 1931 and she survives. Mr. Howe was a farmer.
Other survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Willa Bullock of Jackson, Mississippi; one grandson, Allen Stevens, who made his home with Mr. and Mrs. Howe; three other grandchildren; eight sisters, Mrs. Mildred Sears of Bedford, Mrs. Vernia Brinegar of Stanford, Indiana, Mrs. Golda Gillispie of Indianapolis, Mrs. Helen Vaught and Mrs. Delpha May both of Bloomington and Mrs. Hattie Alsup and Mrs. Ruby Howe, both of Franklin and Mrs. Sylvia Smith of Heltonville; two brothers, Lebert Howe of Heltonville and Charles Howe of Bloomington; an uncle, Garland Clark of Smithville and an aunt, Mrs. Emma Sipes of Heltonville.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Jones Funeral Home with Rev. James Stevens and Rev. Mortor Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in the Gilgal Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 10 a.m. tomorrow.
