[722] His bounty-land application dated 4-Feb-1851 shows he was 59 years old at time, and that he served in the War of 1812; that he was drafted in New Hanover Co., N.C. and served as a private under Capt. John Sellars for months, 15-Oct-1814 to 10-Mar-1815. His application was granted. There no pension for War of 1812 survivors, until after his death.
