Served with the famous 4th Infantry Division during WWII during the Normandy invasion on Utah Beach, breakout at St. Lo, first American troops in Paris and Germany, Hurtgen Forest, Battle of the Bulge. He was awarded five battle stars, 2 presidential unit awards, Belgium Forgeere, 3 Bronze stars and the combat infantry badge.
