Medium: Mixed Media Construction (Cardboard, Metal, Gesso, Paint, Marble Dust, Dryer Fuzz, etc...)Prototype for an Art Object which, for one reason or another, was never finally completed.
Designed to address the question, "Who is the Author of Authority?" - it is a kind of aesthetic representation of my personal then-demon "judge" - externalized, personified, and made concrete - as well as essentially somewhat comic.
Set upon a pedestal, the small bodiless head protruding from the red reflective disk is actually attached to a kind of internal clockwork mechanism, so that, when hung upon the wall and supplied with standard AC electric current, the head shakes back and forth ad nauseam-a blanket editorial of negation.
It is always a great mistake to take ones demons too seriously!
