Let me think...was this the first or second cruise?
Back in either '66 or '68 I had been on liberty in Hong Kong, but had missed the last liberty launch. Me and three other sailors (my chief being one of them). The Captains Gig had just pulled away from the dock, and the Old Man told the Boatswains Mate to go back to the dock to pick us up. We all staggard on board and stood on the fan tail. Pulling away, the BM hit full throttle launching the chief off the fan tail into the drink!
MAN OVERBOARD!
We swung 'round to save him from the contaminated waters of the polluted Hong Kong Bay.
