Sept. 10 elections: Check your voter card--many precincts have changed

Elections officials in Alachua County are urging everyone to check their new voting card before heading for the polls, because many voters have been assigned to new precincts.

Supervisor of Elections Beverly Hill added 18 Alachua County precincts, increasing the total number from 53 to 71, because of a growing number of registered voters. Total registration is now 122,225.

"Our mailing of voter identification information included everyone's precinct, but I'm concerned that many voters overlooked it," Hill said. "I encourage everyone to check their mailing or contact us."
