To celebrate 15 years of publishing, Iguana holds concert with singing CIA agent
January 2002

The Gainesville Iguana celebrates 15 years of publishing with a concert by political satirist Dave Lippman Saturday, Feb. 16. The show will feature the dreaded return of George Shrub, the world's only known singing CIA agent. Gainesville's own Lars Din will also play, at the Northeast First Street Music Hall, 619 NE 1st St., in Gainesville, at 8 p.m.

Shrub sings anti-folk songs and explains the world's problems away, Lippman does the opposite. His most recent CD is "I Hate Wal-Mart." Advance tickets are $7 available from Hyde & Zeke Records or by calling the Iguana at 378-5655. Admission at the door is on a sliding scale, $8-12.

The Iguana started in October, 1986 and has been publishing continuously since. It is the longest-running progressive magazine in Gainesville.
