Bus to DC from Gainesville for anti-IMF, World Bank, and Taco Bell protests
September/October 2001

Gainesville activists are mobilizing to go to Washington, DC on the last weekend in September to confront the World Bank and International Monetary Fund (IMF), as well as confronting Taco Bell for their continued reluctance to raise wages for Florida's farmworkers.

The Taco Bell protests will be held on Friday the 28th and the World Bank and IMF protests will be held on Saturday and Sunday, the 29th and 30th. Gainesville activists, who mobilized nearly 100 people to DC last April against the World Bank/IMF meetings, and who have supported the struggles of Florida's farmworkers, will continue their support by mobilizing for these protests.

There will be a bus leaving Gainesville at 9pm on Wednesday (Sept. 26th) that will arrive in DC at noon on Thursday (Sept. 27th). The bus will be leaving DC at 9pm on Sunday night (Sept. 31) and returning to Gainesville on Monday (Oct. 1st) at noon.

We are looking for 30 Gainesville activists who would like to join the bus mobilization. Transportation costs are only $20 per person round-trip! (We only have 30 seats so it's first-come-first-serve.)
