We dedicate this last Iguana of the century
The Editors
November/December 1999

We dedicate this last Iguana of the century to the young strong truthful voices--Alexis Amaye-Obu, Rosina Roibal, the young women speaking out against an anti-woman legal system, and so many more. We recall the verse of Ella's Song, "To me young people come first / they have the courage where we fail ..." And the refrain, "We who believe in freedom cannot rest until it comes." (This song is from a speech by Civil Rights Movement legend Ella Baker, composed and sung by Sweet Honey in the Rock.) We wish you all a New Year filled with the hope and promise of strides toward justice, freedom and peace.
