Greening UF
October 1999

"Greening UF" is a conference for the students, faculty, and staff of the University of Florida to bring together their ideas and forge an environmentally sound campus future. It will take place on Thursday and Friday, October 28 and 29, at the Reitz Union. There will be plenaries and breakout workshops both days, running 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 pm. According to conference organizers: "The University provides jobs and education to more than half of the residents of Gainesville, thus not only creating a major environmental impact, but also bearing a profound responsibility for increasing the awareness and knowledge necessary to create an environmentally sustainable future.... This conference is a starting point for identifying what we can do individually and also collectively as offices, departments, and the university as a whole. Anticipated outcomes include increased awareness of environmental impact and the tools to find workable solutions." For more information, check www.bcn.ufl.edu/sustainable.
