The second annual Radical Rush
September 1999

The second annual Radical Rush took place on the UF Campus September 7-10 outside Turlington Hall. Coordinated by the Civic Media Center, over 20 groups from the campus and community brought tables and literature to this large campus crossroad in an effort to bring awareness of their groups and issues to the student body. All who came felt it was worth it and gained new supporters. Two new groups, Campus Amnesty International and Student Peace Action, had over 50 sign up over the four days. Other groups with a major presence during the rush period were Graduate Assistants United, Neighborhood Nutrition Network, Free Radio Gainesville, Veterans for Peace, Food Not Bombs, Students for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, Environmental Action Group, Campus National Organization for Women, The Women's Interest Student Association, and the Civic Media Center.

Radical Rush '99 T-shirts are available at the Civic Media Center, 1021 W. University Ave. 373-0010. Fall hours are noon-7:30 Tuesday through Saturday.
