Florida women to get constitutional equality?

In November Florida voters will decide whether women should be equal before the law in the Florida constitution. The Constitutional Review Commission, which meets every 10 years to consider possible changes to the Florida constitution, voted overwhelmingly to put equal rights for women on the ballot. In the late '70's the Florida legislature failed to ratify the Equal Rights Amendment to the U.S. constitution, which had been passed by the House and Senate but required passage by the legislatures of 2/3 of the states.
