Innocence, Faith, Imagination

I'm going back within life.
I must find the innocence of youth.
Somehow as I've gotten older
I've forgotten what once was truth.

Jesus said, "As a child you shall come to me."
And now I have to find the child I have got to be.

Innocence, faith, imagination.
All so simple in a child,
And a love that was always present
Deep within a heart so mild.

I was once a little boy
Who knew just how to cry,
And His wings were immanation.
With His heart He touched the sky.

All of life was His for taking,
All my dreams were His for making.

Innocence, faith, imagination.
All so simple in a child,
And a love that was always present
Deep within a heart so mild.

He had a never-ending faith.
Nothing was beyond belief,
And the conclusion never once wavering
That none of His hopes were out of reach.

Faith to see the good in all.
Faith to hear the good Lord's call.

The greatest gift He had is love,
A love that could not exclude,
A love that warmed any icy heart,
A love that lifted any mood,

A love from God, a love so pure,
And any broken heart it could cure.

Innocence, faith, imagination.
All so simple in a child,
And a love that was always present
Deep within a heart so mild.
