Performed thesis research in network management, concentrating on IP protocol suite. Wrote PC-based IP management tools including an IP RIP history monitor and an ICMP-based connectivity status interrogator. Both programs written for use with Clarkson packet driver and developed using Borland C/C++ 3.1.
Prototyped a PC-based weather data imaging application, which collects current weather data and imaging from sites on the Internet. Resulting data and images are displayed in a foreground Windows slide viewer and converted to NTSC for broadcast on the campus CATV system (UFNTV). Application which fetches new files is written in C++ and is a Windows application.
Created front-end software and interface to update a 1978 20 X 20 video sitching matrix. Resulting product provides enhanced functionality and replaces 20 keypad input modules and a decoder.
Designed and prototyped a controller circuit for satellite dish polarotor.
Analysis of facility networking requirements, design of network infrastructure, and installation of fiberoptic and coaxial network equipment. Implementation of PC-based network monitoring facility for campus backbone. Diagnosis of campus-wide routing configuration and hardware faults.
