Specified computers and subassemblies for production of Sleep Analyzing Computer (SAC). Evaluated new devices and vendor substitutions. Defined all system test procedures.

Designed IBM compatible SAC real-time acquisition board based on Intel 8097 microprocessor. Implemented 16-bit PC/AT bus interface. Created burn-in and test procedures.

Supervised production and manufacturing. Supervised design and implementation of SAC multichannel EEG/transducer amplifier.

Produced all schematics and PCB artwork. Designed all PCB layouts.

Provided hardware/firmware technical support. Made field service trips for installation, service, and upgrades, including installation of 10-station StarLAN Sleepsmith at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor and service call to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Adelaide, South Australia.

Provided technical support training to customers and in-house service staff. Wrote the SAC Service Manual.

Wrote 8097/80x86 assembler and C programs for system calibration, real-time data acquisition and playback, analog/digital diagnostics, SAC board power-up and monitor firmware, and in-house utilities.

Documented inventory and bills of materials. Produced purchase requests for electronic components and computer peripherals. Supplied lists of possible sources for parts. Expedited urgent parts requests.
