The Gainesville Chinese School was founded in 1989 to provide the Gainesville community
with an opportunity to learn more about the Chinese language and culture. Beginning at the
University of Florida's Reitz Union with less than 40
students, the GCS has expanded to the Oak Hall School and has an enrollment of nearly
double the original student body. This webpage provides a look into the activities of the
GCS. If you live in the Gainesville area, why not join for a semester and learn about a
fascinating culture?
We try to hold two differently styled programs at the Gainesville Chinese School: Program A, a more intense and immersive course, and Program B, a leisure course designed for those not interested in such studies and/or those who have little or no experience in speaking Chinese.
