GCM Board

An active board is the key to the ability of Gainesville Community Ministry to deliver services and to ensure that each church's views are represented.

Representation
Churches are encouraged to recruit Board members. Churches with congregations up to 499 members are entitled to one board member; from 500-999 members, two board members; and more than 1000 members, three board members.

Expectations
Board members are expected to attend monthly board meetings and to serve on at least one committee. Prospective members are asked to attend two meetings and to receive an orientation to the ministry before they are confirmed.

Meeting Schedule
Board meetings are held the second Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. at the United Way Conference Room, 5200 Newberry Road, except in the month of August when there is no meeting.

Each board member serves on at least one of the following permanent committees:

• Finance
• Church Relations
• Public Relations
• Internal Affairs / Personnel
• Building and Maintenance
