Gainesville Civic Chorus announces its 36th concert season for 2011-2012

June 11, 2011. Gainesville, Florida. The Gainesville Civic Chorus (GCC), under the direction of Dr. Will Kesling, announces its 36th season of choral masterworks. The 2011-2012 series consists of four major concerts or musical events. The GCC will join the University of Florida Choral Union on Sunday, December 4, 2011 for a winter holiday favorite, " Sounds of the Season," to be presented at the Phillips Center for the Performing Arts, University of Florida. On Saturday, December 17, 2011 GCC invites the community to participate in " Handel's Messiah Sing Along" at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, Gainesville. On Sunday, April 22, 2012 the Chorus will be joined by the Gainesville Philharmonic Orchestra and the choir of the First Presbyterian Church to present René Clausen's " A New Creation" and Antonio Vivaldi's " Beatus Vir" at the First Presbyterian Church, Gainesville. The season finale is " Spirit of America VI: Saluting American Veterans", an annual patriotic concert in honor of Memorial Day on Saturday, May 26, 2012 at the First Presbyterian Church, Gainesville. This 2011-12 concert season is supported in part by grants from the City of Gainesville and the Alachua County Tourist Development Council.

About the Gainesville Civic Chorus.

Established in 1976, the Gainesville Civic Chorus Master Chorale, an 80-member community choir, brings quality choral performances to Gainesville and surrounding communities while providing opportunities for area singers to display and develop their talents. The Choristers, a small ensemble drawn from the Master Chorale, sings for local civic and community groups. Contact information.
