Concert Dress and ProtocolRehearsals are on Monday evenings from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. in room 120 of the Music Building on the University of Florida campus. Dress rehearsals (and occasionally extra rehearsals) are scheduled for the week prior to a performance, at the conductor's discretion. Please do not wear cologne, scented after-shave, body lotion or hairspray. Always have a pencil available at rehearsals to mark portions of the music that need extra attention. If a large enough group in your voice section is experiencing difficulty, an extra sectional rehearsal may need to be scheduled. We are expected at every rehearsal and any absences must be cleared with the section leader and/or the director. Be sure to keep in touch with your section leader about any problems. Membership fees are at present $100 per season, payable before October 1. It is our policy not to exclude anyone because of membership costs who is otherwise qualified to join. If this is a major concern for you, please do not hesitate to contact any member of the chorus Board of Directors.
Concert dress is required and consists of: Men: Black tuxedo, black tie, black cummerbund, white tux shirt, black socks and black dress shoes. The protocol for concert performances is: no cologne, scented after-shave, body lotion or hairspray. Deodorant or anti-perspirent is recommended. Watches may be worn but alarms and other sounds must be turned off. No active cell phones, pagers or water bottles are allowed on stage. Black music folders are required - some may be available from our supply. |
