The
primary purpose of the Florida Network of Victim Witness Services is
"To advocate on behalf of all victims of crime." The Network was created in 1979 to provide support and technical assistance for advocates in the emerging field of Victim Assistance and Witness Management. Twenty years later, the rights of crime victims have evolved and the field of advocacy is becoming a firmly established profession within the fields of criminal justice and social services. The Network has been an important entity promoting these rights and establishing standards for professional training and services. Priorities of The Network include developing and promoting legislation that positively impacts crime victims, providing exceptional training on cutting edge issues and promoting public awareness regarding the rights and needs of crime victims. The Network now represents hundreds of individuals and agencies statewide who serve victims and witnesses. The efforts of this "Network of Networks" has yielded significant results and major changes in the areas of:
Why Join? Over the years, the Network has gained both state and national recognition as the voice for crime victims in Florida. Who Should Join?
Membership privileges and Benefits
Membership and Annual Dues
Florida residents who provide direct services to victims or witnesses or act as consultants, administrators, educators, researchers or volunteers in victim services.
Groups or organizations who provide victim or witnesses, volunteer services, administration, or consultation. An Agency Membership receives 5 newsletters.
Persons interested in victim or witness issues, reside in or outside of Florida, who are not involved in direct victim services.
Residents or non-residents of Florida who choose to financially support the FNVWS. Voting rights are subject to eligibility. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
