Landscape Paintings by the Florida Highwaymen

for sale by Tom Staley, Micanopy, Florida

These are Highwaymen paintings that I have available for sale. Most were purchased by myself in the 1990's, either from the painters themselves, or through friends in the coastal area of Florida around Vero Beach, Fort Pierce, and Eau Gallie.

This a very nice marsh scene with a single pine tree, by James Gibson. It measures only 14" x 10" and is in a natural wood molding frame. Done on Upson board. Signed lower left.

$850
A coastal scene in the classic style that Johnny Daniels was so proficient at doing. It is a northward view (southward if you are on the Gulf) and probably done in homage to a Backus painting of the same scene. It is on masonite and mounted in a regular frame. 24" x 36". Signed in the lower right.

$1400
Painting by James Gibson, 24" x 30", oil on canvas in a conventional frame. This is a river or marsh scene, done in Gibson's later and more colorful style, and purchased from the artist. Signed lower right.

$850
A simple 19" x 11" painting on upson board, in James Gibson's early style. It is on a molding frame and taped over the nails. Probably pre 1980. Color is a bright green, and the quality of the image is good. Signed lower right.

$500
Another simple James Gibson monochrome painting on upson board, in a molding frame. It was probably done as part of a three-painting set, and is a mate to the one listed earlier. Nothing drab about the color - it's a stunning bright green! Measures 19" x 11". Signed in the lower right.

$500
